Beauty in Nature
Posted on January 20, 2014
Nature always has some aspect beauty, even when it is a dying flower. I have a hibiscus in the house for the winter and it usually blooms several times while it is inside. I enjoy the color and reminder that winter won’t last very long.
In this image I really like the lines of the veins, the way they wrap around the flower and give it some definition. The color hasn’t faded at this point and is still very bright.
The Old Cement Mixer

It is very cold and snowy here, like it is in a large chunk of the country. The Cement Mixer is sitting by a fence, it looks lonely and isolated like the weather makes me feel. The pattern of the circles and triangles is one reason I like this image along with the pop of color in the bleak winter palate.
The 52 Project
Posted on January 6, 2014
I have neglected my camera for far too long and that has caused me to lose “my eye” for composition.
I have decided to make it a goal for 2014 to post at least 52 images, the image will be my favorite picture of that week. I have one rule the image or design must be created the previous week. I am also going to try to teach myself how to work in Adobe Creative Suite, so there might be some weeks where it is a design piece instead of a photo.
I hope you enjoy the images and constructive criticism is welcome.
